Welcome to MyARTS

MyARTS is a COMBAT operated program in the heart of downtown and the Crossroads District where young people gather from all parts of Jackson County creating vitality that is unforgettable, yet humbling. The former Mayor Barnes said it best: "Downtown is the world's window to our city, some even refer to downtown as our city's living room. It is a reflection of our energy, our spirit and our hometown pride. Downtown is what most visitors see and therefore, is a symbol of our entire city."
MyARTS is proud to be the only youth center in the Downtown revitalization that is successfully being orchestrated, adding to the center core's vitality. MyARTS artists have the skills and creativity to offer services in branding, commissions, artwork, murals, t-shirts, professional photography and web design.

About Us

MyARTS has become a haven for at risk teens from every corner of the city: A place where they can explore and express their creative abilities, identify possibilities for continuing education, and most importantly, dispel the myth that the larger world is forever closed to them. At the heart of MyARTS is the belief that skills equal power and opportunity.

MyARTS has three goals, which provide teens with access to the things they need most: A safe place where they are able to build positive mentoring relationships; An opportunity to have a voice through working with MyARTS clientele and through their personal art shows; The responsibility of paid employment that promotes their own economic development and acts as a springboard to post-secondary opportunities.

MyARTS is proud to have products in the community that can be purchased at the following locations: Salon X, 1919 W. 43rd Ave., Kansas City, KS 66103; Skyline Downtown Salon, 2001 Grand Ave., Kansas City, MO 64108.

MyARTS Community and Special Projects

MyARTS is not only an in-studio program, but also an off-site public art and community outreach program. Each year, young artists reach out to the community during local festivals, fairs and events. Interactive mural installations, face painting, sidewalk chalk, and ceramic making activities allow the young artists to share their joy of creating art and also bring fine arts and art-making skills directly to the community.
